OL130: NEW - Introducing the 6Cs of Regenerative Soil Management
This session is a follow-up to “Soil Health and Climate”; however, it also works as a stand-alone event. The focus is on soil-management practices that result in healthier soils.
The Compost Council has adopted and adapted a practice classification system developed by Dr. Laura van Erd at the University of Guelph, entitled The 6Cs of Management for Healthy Soils. This session will look at each of the 6 Cs (i.e., control compaction, careful cultivation, continuous roots, covers, crop and animal diversity, and compost) in detail and with a landscaping perspective. The science behind each of the Cs will be explained and real-life examples of each will be discussed.
