OL064: NEW- Landscape Designer’s Studio – Principles
Important: This is a blended session/seminar - Participants can attend online via Zoom or in class at LO. Is Design subjective? Although most of us have a preference for a Garden style or an Architectural Period, most would agree that good design appeals to everyone.
This Design Studio will dive into the principles of landscape design through lectures and practical exercises. Assignments focus on the process of creating designs for residential sites.
Some of the topics covered include: measuring a site, creating site analysis, making functional diagrams, sketching concept plans, drafting preliminary plans, creating master plans, applying design principles

This blended online session and in-class seminar is perfect for new Landscape and Garden Designers that would like some formal training in design. It will also give confidence to those in the industry that have not been formally trained.

One Residential Landscape Project will be created from inception to Master Plans over the duration of the day. Attendees will complete each task which will be assessed by the instructor with constructive notes and feedback. It is helpful for attendees to have a working knowledge of a CAD program (ex. Dynascape/AutoCad) or have drafting skills prior to participating.
