Are your trucks/plows and crew ready to get back out on the road?
This seminar will provide the information that your company needs to stay compliant with the Commercial Vehicle Legislation in Ontario and effectively navigate the Provinces CVOR system.
The instructor will show you how to properly register the weight of your truck and go through all the requirements needed to avoid roadside enforcement action by police or Ministry of Transportation officers. Participants will be shown which class of trucks require a CVOR, Daily Inspections and Annual Safety Devices
After the break participants will be shown the practical side with a live demonstration of the standard roadside inspection on an actual truck or truck and trailer combination. Other issues like mechanical defects, cargo securement, distracted driving and the CVSA Out of Service Criteria will also be covered

-Functioning chain brake and rear trigger interlock.
-Front and rear handles must be free of structural cracks.
-No fuel leaks present.
-Chain catcher tab/pin is present and intact.

CSA approved work boots.
CSA approved hardhat in good condition.
CSA approved safety eye wear.
Chainsaw pants or chaps approved for use in Ontario.

* Supervisor duties as defined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and how these duties link with the employer and worker duties.

* Give examples of how supervisors can exercise due diligence in the workplace.
* Create an action plan of steps that demonstrates due diligence in their workplace.
* Analyze case studies in the workplace to determine if due diligence was established.
