LI015: Fundamentals of Irrigation Design
An introductory, hands-on seminar for those who want to learn how to design an irrigation system with water efficiency in mind. This seminar is an excellent introductory class for residential and commercial contractors. You will leave with a knowledge of irrigation design fundamentals, how to creat a simple irrigation system design, spray and rotor sprinkler head layout techniques and how to design an efficient system.
Each participant will need: An engineer's scale ruler, mechanical pencil and calculator.

Learn about scheduling and how to program a system to deliver the necessary water. What are the controller models on the market and what are their features and benefits? Smart ET controllers will be demonstrated and available to be worked on. After attending this seminar you will be comfortable with programming basic schedules on various makes and models of irrigation controllers. This seminar is good for all levels - especially those who want to schedule controllers from many different manufacturers.
NOTE: A portion of the day may include presentations by leading manufacturers who will demonstrate the latest developments in controllers.

* Methods and approaches to solve common problems
* Learn methods utilizing repair couplings and telescopic devices for quick fixes
* Application for preventing connection leaks

* Tools needed in your truck,spare parts and other helpful items
* How to repair or replace a component that is malfunctioning

What equipment, tools, products and accessories are needed? What are some of the basic installation tips in approaching the project? What work order is most efficient and which records should be kept? This seminar is ideal for those inexperienced in irrigation field installation.
After attending participants will:
* Know how to approach irrigation installation and the steps to ensure a smooth installation.
* Have hands-on experience with PVC and poly pipe.
* Have experience working with irrigation equipment, tools, products and accessories to create a working system.

LI020: Electrical Troubleshooting for Irrigation Systems
Have you ever been called to a site to investigate why the irrigation system is not starting up? This hands-on seminar will cover what you need to know and the equipment needed to get things working.
Participants will learn:
*To troubleshoot an irrigation system from the controller without going outside, until you are 90 percent certain what the problem is.
*Test power sources, power wires, field wires, solenoids and batteries.
*What resistance readings can tell you about the health of the irrigation system.
*Locate buried wires to find hidden valves.
This seminar will save hours on site, allowing you to be more efficient at troubleshooting AC and DC power sources.
Note: Participants should bring along a multimeter for testing wiring . After attending this seminar you will know about volt/ohm meters, irrigation equipment electrical requirements and how to test many devices.

LI010: Certified Irrigation Technician Prep Seminar (CIT)
This seminar will help prepare individuals wishing to take the Irrigation Association's CIT exam, though it is not a substitute for studying the reference material.
Workbook:Participants will need to purchase a workbook from irrigation.org, review prior and bring to the seminar.
What's covered: This two-day CIT prep seminar focuses on hands-on work,while preparing you to sit for the written exam. Participants should be proficient irrigation installers or service staffers who wish to prepare for new responsibilities, projects or employment opportunities. Begin your path to certification as a professional irrigator today and reap the benefits.
The CIT program is based on a comprehensive job analysis to identify the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to succeed as an irrigation technician.
