LBM125-OT: New- Mental Health First Aid
Just as physical first aid is administered to an injured person before medical treatment can be obtained, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is provided until appropriate treatment is found or until the crisis is resolved.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training was developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) to improve mental health literacy and provide the skills and knowledge to help people better manage potential or developing mental health problems in themselves, a family member, a friend or a colleague.
This course is facilitated by Workplace Safety and Prevention Services. Instructors have been trained and certified through Mental Health First Aid Canada.

A seminar for employers who want to undertake due diligence and for individuals who want to learn how to operate a skid steer safely and correctly. Instruction will include basic operator safety, inspection, and equipment features in accordance with applicable OHSA and regulations and equipment manufacturers' guidance. Each participant will undergo classroom evaluation in a simulated jobsite environment.

NOTE: It is the responsibility of the operator, even after completing the training, to review the specific device they will be operating.

PPE required:Work boots and hearing protection are mandatory for this seminar.

In addition to class time, participants will be given the opportunity to operate and demonstrate proficiency on a compact excavator in a simulated job-site environment.

This training will provide chainsaw operators with the skills and knowledge required to safety maintain and operate a chainsaw. The training covers a wide range of topics, including legislation, tree hazards, personal protective equipment, pre-operation inspection, kickback prevention, notching, limbing and felling. The training consists of both classroom and practical components.

LS037-OT: Fundamentals of Fall Protection
Both modules are compulsory for workers who use travel restraint systems, fall restricting systems, fall arrest systems or safety nets as a source of protection against fall hazards. This course is limited to 12 participants per sessions as per the ministry. The Working at Heights Training Program Standard has a modular format to allow for core theory training to be completed separately from practical training elements. There are two modules: Working at Heights Basic Theory and Working at Heights Practical Equipment.
