LS027: 3-day Joint Health and Safety Committee Seminar

Part One of this 5 day seminar is based on the new Certification Training Program Standard and is perfect for JHSC members within the green industry. Participants will receive interactive, instructor-led classroom training that encourages learning and networking. Industry-specific examples, videos and case studies make learning even more relevant. Certification training provides participants with a strong, consistent foundation in health and safety.
Upon completion,you will:
*Learn about the duties and responsibilities of employers, supervisors and workers as well as workers' rights.
*Learn about hazard recognition, assessment, control and evaluation.
*Learn about the legislative requirements of a JHSC and the functions, powers and duties of its members.
*Find out what the duties and responsibilities of certified members are and how to be an effective committee.
*Know the purpose and understand the principles for conducting effective workplace inspections.
*Learn about the legal requirements for reporting and investigating fatalities and critical injuries.
*Know how to find and use information in the workplace (e.g. statistics) and identify trends.
*Know how to access information and resources from health and safety organizations.
Note: Due to requirements of the current JHSC Certification Training Standards, JHSC members need to complete Part Two with 6 months of taking this seminar, or they will need to additionally complete refresher training in order to be certified.This seminar is MOL approved.
