COVID-19 - Resources

We are in this together.

It is still not clear whether our green sectors are deemed essential under Ontario emergency guidelines. LO’s COVID-19 Task Force continues to seek guidance from legal and government sources and will notify members immediately if we get any clear answers.

The province has opened a business information hotline at 1-888-444-3659 to provide answers on the emergency order, but so far Task Force members have not succeeded in getting through or getting any answers. If you receive any guidance from the hotline, please document the call and let us know.

In the meanwhile, members must make independent interpretations on business activity and must balance the need to maintain income with the health and safety of your employees, customers and the public. If you decide to work, please focus on essential activities and follow all safety procedures. Do not take risks that jeopardize the safety of your employees or the public or tarnish our profession’s reputation. The Task Force encourages members to participate in the provincially mandated 14-day work pause.

New information is posted to the LO Covid-19 Resource Centre daily, and we are working with authorities to aggregate official safety protocols to sustain us beyond this challenge. It will be organized by sector.

Stay informed, stay positive, and stay safe. We will get through this together.
